Soundtrack: Obscured by Clouds - Pink Floyd

The blue is deep water swallowing light — where it no longer penetrates and form dissolves into texture. Above it stands the porcelain: thin, fragile, stretched into threads that rise like a cloud piling up on itself until it breaks. Two scales that don't belong together — the depth and the towering thunderhead — forced into the same object. Gold flickers between the fibers like lightning in a cloud mass, then vanishes again into the dark beneath.
The sphere is like the deep sea, heavy and closed, where the darkness holds itself in a dense mass. The plane of the lid is the waves on the sea surface — the boundary where the water ends and the sky begins. And right on that boundary the porcelain grows upward, like a storm front forming at the moment the sea touches the sky. The piece plays out on that single line: the depth beneath the lid, the storm above it.
