Earthbound

Soundtrack: Gorecki - Lamb

A vessel shaped by earth, fire, and time.

The title holds a dual meaning:
Earth refers both to the clay itself and to the deep, muted tones that emerged from the firing. These colours feel close to soil, stone, and sediment — as if the piece were lifted from a landscape rather than made in a studio.

Bound suggests a movement toward the earth, a pull back to origin. It points to gravity, to grounding, and to the quiet certainty that everything eventually returns to where it came from.

On the lid lies the imprint of a rope. The rope once pressed into the clay, then burned away in the kiln. Its material has vanished, but its presence remains as a fragile trace. A memory in negative. A small proof that disappearance can still leave direction, that absence can carry weight.

This lingering mark is the heart of Earthbound:
what is gone continues to shape what stays.
What turns to ash still leaves form.
What releases leaves an echo.

A reflection on impermanence — on how every touch, every tension, every moment leaves something behind, even when the source has left.
